Larry, as he is known to both friend and bill collector, frequently receives
requests to appear as a humorous speaker before groups of lawyers. He also
appears before organizations that are unrelated to the law, usually whenever
he gets lost and shows up at the wrong place. An animated and engaging raconteur,
Larry entertains audiences with his short stories drawn from many years in
the general practice of law. With a wink of his eye and a nod of his head,
Larry will take you for a whimsical tour of the ironies of our legal system
as he recounts episode after episode of unusual and often flabbergasting
situations he has encountered in the legal arena, both in and outside the
courtroom. These stories are all true, except where he has lied a little.
If you would like this handsome, funny and knowledgeable author, entertainer
and, yes, attorney to lend some frivolity to your next gathering, whether it's
a meeting of a local bar association, a retirement dinner for a beloved bank
president or a social setting that could use some livening up, please click
on the Schedule an Appearance link to the left.
The Life of Larry
Born in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, quite a few years ago, Larry graduated from Muhlenberg College in nearby Allentown and Villanova University School of Law in Villanova, Pennsylvania. He served honorably in the U.S. Coast Guard Reserve as an enlisted man where he ultimately advanced to one pay grade above pot scrubber. A member of a three-lawyer small town law firm, Fox Williamson Mattioli, P.C., he has been practicing law in Bethlehem for more than 30 years. He represents clients in such diverse areas as land use planning, zoning, family law, estate administration and municipal law. This is important to know, since whenever Larry sends a client a bill, the question arises, "What type of lawyer are you?"
A member of the Northampton County Bar Association, Larry practices primarily
before the Northampton County and Lehigh County Courts of Common Pleas of Pennsylvania.
He also represents clients before the Commonwealth Court of Pennsylvania, the
Superior Court of Pennsylvania, the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania and the U.S.
District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
Larry often conducts a continuing legal education seminar
for attorneys entitled "The
Use of Humor in the Practice of Law as a Means of Decreasing Stress." We
secretly suspect that the key to the twinkle in Larry's eye is that he has
relieved his own stress by writing four thoroughly lighthearted books and
sharing his sometimes zany experiences with us all.
